Scraptastic 2013; part 1

I went to Belgium in the end of October to attend the Scraptastic event, and although my personal opinion is that is was a poorly organized event, the classes were superb and I met a lot of wonderful people, so all in all - it'll go down in my scrap history as a very memorable experience, (maybe just not for all the right reasons - yet… ;/ )

I started out with a class with Gerry van Gent, and wow was that an awesome class! 
She's a very sweet and talented girl from the Netherlands and she makes beautiful art. We made a canvas with everything from misting, resisting, die cutting and a lot of fussy cutting. The result is simply stunning, and I can't wait to get it framed and hung up on my wall!

I know I won't hesitate to take another class with Gerry, and I sure do hope it's going to be sooner than later! Check out her work here.

Prozart 2013; part 3

My mind keeps drifting back to those amazing days in Czempin, Poland, and I find myself smiling. I love thinking about all my new friends, people that I'm already looking forward to seeing again. I enjoy thinking about the workshops and the new techniques I learned, the beautiful wild animals and birds, the walks in the forest and around the pond, the evening around the open fire and I love the thought of coming back next year and seeing everybody again.

The third workshop we had was with Czekoczyna aka Kasia Krzyminska , and it was so much fun and such a great, educational, inspiring and fun workshop - just the way I like it! 

We got awesome papers, embellishments and water colors to play with, and I had the best time! I used another of the great pictures that Marcin took on the first day of the event and this is my result:

Kasia is just one of those people that you instantly fall in love with. She is sweet, gentle, humble, incredibly funny, generous and immensely talented. And she is such a great teacher, I so hope she'll be back next year for another class or that I get a chance to watch her magic somewhere else. Linus 1 år!

Vår lille nevø Linus fylte nylig ett år og i den forbindelse lagde jeg dette kortet, og jeg syns det ble så utrolig lett og fint. Jeg får følelsen av at lastebilen har lasteplanet fullt av stjerner som skal leveres på skyene... :) 

Jeg brukte papirer fra Maja deign og Bazzill. Stjernene og skrivefeltet er dies fra Spellbinders, hjertet laget med Cameoen, bokstavene My Minds Eye og Thickers, 1-tallene en Sizzix die, skyene en die jeg ikke husker navnet på, april en lasercut fra Dusty Attic og lastebilen en lasercut fra FX design. 

Our little nephew turned 1 the other day, and I made this cute card for him. 
I really love the feel of  this card, it so light and fun, and it looks like the truck is unloading the stars on the skies. :)

The papers are Maja Design and Bazzill, the stars and the writing area are dies from Spellbinders, the clouds from a die I just can't remember the name of, the heart was made with my Cameo, the letters from My Mind Eye and Thickers, the number is made with a Sizzix die and both the month of April and the truck are lasercut dies.

Fine Meya #2!

Jeg var akkurat ferdig med mitt kort til lille Meya da min svigerinne spurte om jeg ville lage et kort fra dem også, og jeg sa selvsagt ja! 

Det er få ting som er morsommere enn å lage kort for andre, og hennes eneste ønsker var fargene rosa og brunt. 

Jeg har hatt noen "trekkspillkort" fra Bazill liggende en stund, og fant ut at dette var den perfekte tid for det. Jeg ville bruke Papirdesign sitt herlige klippark "Lykkeliten" i rosa, og jeg hadde problemer med å velge hvilken jeg skulle bruke, så da var dette kortet perfekt.

Jeg brukte vimpel- og swirldies fra Magnolia, dies fra Spellbinders, sommerfugl- og kantpunch fra Martha Stewart, der kommer også de små hjertene fra. Bokstavene er en Sizzix-die. Blomst og bling fra Prima, og osteklut og bånd fra Bikuben.

The second card for little Meya, that I made for my sister-in-law, is an accordion card from Bazzill. I used papers from Basic Grey, Pion and a cut-out paper from Papirdesign. Punches from Martha Stewart and dies from Magnolia, Spellbinders and Sizzix. Bling and flower from Prima and cheese cloth and ribbons from Bikuben.

The second Max in my life!

Så er jeg så heldig å få være fadder for fjerde gang, atter for en liten gutt, den tredje nå, og mitt andre gudbarn som heter Max! 

Max (og litt hans mamma) ønsket seg noe han kunne henge på veggen på rommet sitt, og hva bedre enn ett bilde av ham med sine vakre og stolte storesøstre. 

Jeg blandet herlige småting som passer en liten gutt og små tekster og ord han får med seg på veien. 

Max og hans mamma og pappa ble veldig glade for bildet.

I'm so fortunate to become godmother for the fourth time, again to a little boy, that makes 3 now, and to my second godson with the name of Max. 

Max (and maybe his mom) wished  for something they could hang on Max' wall, and what better than a picture of him together with his beautiful and proud big sisters.

Max and his parents were very happy with the canvas.

Jeg lagde tilslutt ett kort som matchet bildet av papirrester og emballasjen jeg brukte.

Last I made a card to match with the leftover papers and the packaging I had used.

Birthday for my loved one...

Min elskede mann ble 41 år på forrige fredag og jeg ville lage ett maskulint kort med de nye Craftman papirene fra Prima. Jeg klippet ut tekster og tags fra det ene klipparket og brukte Tim Holtz' Gadget Gears, Mini Hearts Set og Steampunk dies.  Diesene er fargelagt med diverse medier; Distress pute og stain, Dabber, Crackle Accent, 

Jeg har limt på lyspære, chipboards og metalltrinkets fra Prima og metalltrinkets Tim Holtz. Den lille bradsen inni har jeg kjøpt på nettet.

Jeg brukte en Martha Stewart kant punch med stjerner og alle kanter er svertet med Distress Black Soot. Det lille søte tekststempelet er fra Scrappiness.

  

My beloved husband turned 41 last Friday and I wanted to make a masculin card with the new Craftsman papers from Prima. Tags and text are also from the same line. I used Gadget Gears, Mini Hearts and Steampunk dies from Tim Holtz, colored with different medias as; Distress pad, stain, Dabber and Crackle Accent, 

Embellished with light bulb, chip boards and metal trinkets from Prima and Tim Holtz.

Text stamp from Scrappiness, edge punch from Martha Stewart and everything is distressed with Black Soot.

Mamma'n til Øyvind!

Jeg fikk en forespørsel fra en god venn om jeg kunne lage et kort til hans mammas 80 års dag, og gjett om jeg sa ja! Det er ingenting jeg synes er koseligere enn å lage kort på bestilling, og det blir spesielt når det er en mann som spør for det hender ikke så ofte.
Jeg fikk frie tøyler, det var bare 80 og mamma som skulle med og her er resultatet:

Jeg koste meg skikkelig med fargelegging av dette herlige Lily of the Valley motivet og Distress re-inkers. Jeg har ikke blitt helt fortrolig med markerne enda, liker fortsatt best re-inkere og stains til fargelegging av motiver. De herlige papirene er fra Glitz, klokken er Fx-design, blomstene Prima og dies fra Sizzix, Magnolia, Spellbinders og Tim Holtz. Seam binding båndet er fargelagt med Distress stains.

Innsiden er laget til å matche utsiden, også her med Spellbinders dies.

I got a request from a good friend to make a birthday card for his mom, and I imediately said yes! He gave me freedom to do whatever I wanted, just include that she turned 80 and mom. Papers are Glitz, flowers are Prima and the stamp is Lily of the Valley, colored with Distress re-inkers.  Dies from Sizzix, Spellbinders, Magnolia and Tim Holtz. The tag says "The worlds best mom" and the stamp on the side is the first sentence of the Norwegian happy birthday song.

Hurra for Lise!

Her er ett vårlig og lekkert bursdagskort til en av min mammas kjæreste venninner, Lise. Jeg synes å minnes at Lise er glad i grønt, og jeg vet hun er glad i natur og blomster, så dette nye stempelet mitt fra Hero Arts passer perfekt. Fargelagt med Distress Markers på akvarellpapir og med herlige papirer fra Bo Bunny "Welcome home" serie ble det vårlig og friskt. 

Here's a card I made for one of my mom's dearest friends, Lise, in beautiful and spring like colors. I seem to remember that Lise really likes green, and I know for sure that she likes nature and flowers, so I figured my new stamp from Hero Arts would be perfect. Colored with Distress Markers on watercolor paper and mixed with the gorgeous papers from Bo Bunny "Welcome home" series it became both fresh and 'springy'.

Stamps: Hero Arts, unknown.

Inks: ColorBox 'Charcoal', Distress 'Stormy Sky', Distress markers

Tools: Martha Stewart edge punch, MemoryBox poppy die, Sizzix numbers die, Die-namics banner die.

Embellishments: Thickers 'Journal' letters.

Linn-tin-tin!

Min kjære venninne Linn fylte 40 år og jeg ville gi henne en virkelig personlig gave og fant ut at minialbum var det eneste riktige. Fy søren som jeg koste meg da jeg lagde dette. Digger Nature‘s Garden serien til Prima og ikke minst muligheten til å pøse på med herlig pynt og blomster! Når motivene på bildene er så fine som dette er det virkelig ingen sak å lage fine ting!

My dear friend Linn turned 40 and I wanted to give her a really personal gift. I found out that a minialbum was the perfect thing to make, and boy did I have a good time making this little beauty. I totally dig Primas Nature‘s Garden line and not to mention the chance to fill up pages with gorgous embellishments and flowers. When the pictures are as pretty as here, it‘s easy to make pretty things!

Det er tar litt vel lang tid å oppsummere hva jeg har brukt, men spør gjerne hvis det er noe dere lurer på.

A Cut Above!

Jeg meldte meg på ett nytt onlinekurs called "A Cut Above" på OnlineCardClasses.com, som har flere utrolig bra kurs, bl a Creative Chemistry 101 med Tim Holtz, ett uvurderlig kurs for oss distress-diggere. 

Dette kurset er om alle de utrolige ting du kan gjøre med din stansemaskin og Silhouetten.

I registred for a new online class at OnlineCardClasses.com, which have really great classes like the Creative Chemistry 101 with Tim Holtz. This class is about all the amazing things you can do with your diecut machine and your Silhouette. I’m just amazed at how may cool things, tips and tricks I’ve learned in this class. I’m posting some of the cards I‘ve made so far, more to come!

Jeg er veldig fornøyd med papiret med tremønster, for da jeg ikke hadde sånt liggende kom Tim Holtz stempelet og Vintage Photo på Specialty Stamping Paper til sin rett. Råtøft!

I’m especially happy with the wood patterned paper, since I didn’t have any at home I improviced with a Tim Holtz stamp, Vintage Photo and Specialty Stamping Paper. Awesome!

Så var det tid for å lære om Print & Cut - ikke helt min stil her, men morsomt!

Here we’ve come to the theme Print & Cut - not quite my style here, but fun!

Ett print & cut kort til, men denne gangen i mer i min ånd i kombinasjon med papirer fra Basic Grey og Glitz.

Another print & cut card, but this time more my style, combined with papers from Basic Grey and Glitz.

Her var temaet; / Here the theme was; "Other than paper diecutting".

Jeg har brukt rester av bånd, limt det på dobbeltsidig tape og stanset ut med en Sizzix die.
Papirer og tekst stripe fra My Mind’s Eye og doily fra Cheery Lynn die.

I’ve used leftover bits of ribbon on twosided tape, cut out with a Sizzix die. Papers from My Mind’s Eye and a doily die from Cheery Lynn.

Jeg har etterhvert innsett at jeg rett og slett digger kurs og onlinekurs er ett suverent alternativ for oss som ikke alltid orker så mye. Jeg kan følge kurset daglig om jeg orker eller åpne kurset senere når jeg er pigg. I den tiden kurset er online kan jeg stille spørsmål i forumet og få svar av kurslederne samme dag. 

Etter at kurstiden er over kan man kjøpe kurset individuelt og få tilgang til forumet og gallerier, men uten muligheten til å skrive spørsmål selv. Jeg syns ikke det gjør noe, for de fleste spørsmål er allerede stilt, så jeg finner som regel svarene i forumet likevel.

I’ve come to realize that I really love classes, and online classes is such a perfect way to learn for us that don’t always have the energy to go anywhere. 

I can follow the classes daily if I’m up to it or click back in whenever I want.

 In the online duration of the class you have access to the forum and the chance to ask questions to the teachers, but after the initial time you can buy all them as individual classes and follow it the pace you want. You still have access to the gallery and forum, you just can’t post any questions. (I‚ve found out that most things have already been addressed, so I just browse through the forum and find the answers I’m looking for anyway)
